Rehab Reveal!

I am so excited to show you all my rehab piece that I will be auctioning off tonight at Habitat for Humanity's "Restore & After" event. Since I was asked to be a part of this special event, I have been brainstorming about what piece I wanted to redo. It started a few weeks ago as I scanned the aisles of flea markets and antique stores. I had no idea what I wanted to get my hands on and redo- there were so many choices! But this little guy caught my attention instantly and I knew it HAD to be mine!
After much love and a couple cans of spray paint, I think it turned out pretty darn good, if I do say so myself! :) And I have a confesstion to make:: this was my first *official* rehab piece I've ever completed from beginning to end, by myself (with the help of my lovely assistant, my wonderful husband, who did most of the sanding. I couldn't pry that sander away from him if I wanted to! Thanks for your help, B!)

Before:
I definitely have rehab fever now! And it's a good thing, because I bought ANOTHER stool to refinish for our home!

Stop by my booth, Cara Beth Photography, to bid on this little red jewel and sign up for a chance at a FREE photo shoot! See you tonight - 6pm at the Layfayette Building, downtown Little Rock.

Restore & After

If you've missed me lately it's not because I haven't been around. Quite the opposite actually. This is prime time for Family Portraits and that is exactly why Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. I LOVE being busy with Fall Family Photo Shoots! :)

This fall, I am also honored to participate in Habitat for Humanity's "Restore & After." What is "Restore & After?" Well, I'm glad you asked! This is an event where 'local artists, schools and other community members help rehabilitate furniture and other decorative items that can then be auctioned off!' I was flattered, to say the least, when my buddy, Eric, asked me to redo a piece of my own to be auctioned off for the cause.

This is the lucky guy that is currently being rehabilitated. This is an original Singer sewing stool that instantly caught my eye at a local antique store. With a lot of love and a little elbow grease, I'll have this stool restored in no time! In fact, I worked on him this Saturday a bit and took pictures of the process...stay tuned for another blog on the before and after.

Not only will this stool be auctioned off but many other fabulous finds like this one from my oh so talented friend, Cara Wilkerson. Check out her rehabilitation station for more fun projects! And while you're swooning over her website, take a look at her stool rehab, which is the inspiration for my little Singer stool redo! I can't wait to show y'all the finished project!

I will also have a booth at this event displaying some of my photography. Stop by my booth to enter for you chance to win a FREE PHOTO SHOOT! See you there!

Jessica & Alan:: Maternity Session:: Central Arkansas

I have been looking forward to this session for weeks! Jessica and Alan are some of our dear friends. They are due...or should I say WERE due, September 15th, this past Tuesday with a sweet little boy, David. I am waiting for a phone call any day now to say that he has made his arrival in this world!

Here are some of my favorites from their session a couple of weeks ago. I'm sure I will have pictures of little David in another week or so! :) I can't wait to meet him!

Sam & Jill::Engagement Session

I just finished up my most recent engagement shoot of a precious couple, Sam and Jill. I knew immediately how special these two were because of their instant attraction to each other. I had so much fun on their shoot, two hours passed by so quickly! I didn't want it to end! Sam and Jill have a love of music and even sang a few songs for me during their shoot. Wow! So much talent packed into one couple! Congratulations, you two! I cannot wait to shoot your wedding next summer! :)
