Santa baby

My photography season is finally winding down. January is all about getting ready for the new year and I am excited about a few changes coming to Cara Beth Photography. I have learned a lot this past year. I've learned a little bit of what works and a lot about what doesn't work. I'm excited to offer more packages including newborn packages which includes your maternity, newborn session, and continues to document your baby's growth through their first birthday! We'll end the first year with a bang by having a cake smash session or perhaps I'll shoot their first birthday party.

One of my first clients to book this package was my friend Amy. She, along with her husband, Birc, gave birth to sweet Savannah. I was delighted to see Amy and her beautiful daughter who was a perfect angel during her first photo session. I was amazed that Savannah didn't even cry once.

I love this image of Savannah in her Santa hat with a cute little smirk on her face. She's all ready for Christmas!

Merry Christmas from Cara Beth Photography. Stay tuned for more surprises in 2012!

Sneak Peek: Newborn Will: Minden, Louisiana

Sweet baby Will. My heart swoons when I see these pictures, especially this first one. Will's mom, Anna Laura, is like a little sister to me.
Will was so cozy and warm on his heating pad. :)
It makes my heart happy to see a family enjoying their new little baby.
Snugglin' with momma.
Daddy lovin' on Will.

Big brother is so proud of his new little brother. Congrats to mom, dad and big brother Logan!

Blog Feature

Thanks to my friend Amy for featuring some of my photography on her excellent blog. Amy, of Freaky Perfect, is a humorous writer who touches on a variety of subjects from how to improve your business to blogging about her adorable two sons. I was privileged enough to photograph these two handsome little men earlier this year. Check out the article she wrote entitled How to Take Great Holiday Photos.

On the road again...

2011 Fall mini sessions are well underway! I feel like singing that Johnny Cash song "I've Been Everywhere", you know the one that names all the different places we've been to. I've been to Louisiana, Keller Texas, Little Rock, Jasper Arkansas,.... and the list goes on.

My first mini session was in my hometown of Minden, LA. Two weekends ago I was in Keller, Texas. Last weekend, Jasper, Arkansas. I'm looking forward to spending Halloween weekend passing out treats and maybe a few tricks to the neighborhood kids. Happy Fall!
There are still a few open spots for November 12 mini sessions in Little Rock. If you are in need of family Holiday card pictures, send me an email to book a session:: carabethphotography@gmail.com

Anna Laura:: Maternity:: Louisiana

This photo shoot puts a smile on my face. I have known Anna Laura since we were babies. Our families have been close for years and have spent many holidays together eating chili on Christmas Eve and singing Christmas carols. My senior year of high school I picked up Anna Laura and her younger brother for school every morning. I still have memories of us singing tunes in my old Grand Prix. :) So when Anna Laura asked me to take her maternity and family pictures I jumped at the opportunity. She and her husband, Tim, are already blessed with one child Logan and are due with a second child in another month.

We had quite the experience with this shoot, mainly because it was in the middle of a pasture and the horses were EXCEPTIONALLY friendly. They literally would not move out of the shot even when we pushed them so we just went with it. :) Since they wanted to be photographed so much we just let them and I LOVE how the shots turned out with the horsies.

Restore and After

I am participating in the second annual Habitat for Humanity Restore & After event in downtown Little Rock. Last year, my good friend Eric who is on the board of Habitat for Humanity asked me to take pictures for the event. Of course I jumped at the opportunity to support such a cause. Also, I was thrilled to be a part of the very first Restore and After event. I know that the second annual will be better than ever! I will be entering a small restore project and I must emphasize just how small it is because my life has been nuts! I will have a table displaying some of my photography and raffling off a photo shoot. Be sure to stop by and put your name in for the drawing.
All of the restore items will be up for bid in a silent auction to benefit Habitat for Humanityincluding mine. Here's a sneak peek:
Stop by the second annual Restore and After TOMORROW NIGHT Thursday 6 pm at The Lafayette Building, Downtown Little Rock. See you there! I'll be the one with the camera in your face. :)

Cara's Head Shots:: Realtor - Central Arkansas

It is always a pleasure to work with my friend, Cara, over at Live the Home Life blog. Have you checked out her fabulous blog yet? No? Well, head on over there and get some DIY tips from a pro! Cara is a local realtor here in Little Rock and is known for her rehabilitation station and all of her step by step projects she so wittingly describes on her blog. She has also been featured on At Home in Arkansas. That's right, she's practically a celebrity in this town. Cara contacted me because she needed a few fresh pics for her blog, business cards and of course her Facebook profile! We did this shoot in her amazing creative home! I was in awe of everything in her home and all the DIY projects that I have seen on her blog. And again, I must mention her blog. Go check it out...right NOW! :)

Pool Party

This past weekend I went to my hometown to visit friends and family. I was hired to shoot a birthday party for Ryan, who was turning 3 years old. Ryan and a few of his closest friends and family met early by the pool to avoid to Louisiana heat! Ryan had fun jumping in the pool, eating cake and opening lots of gifts! I ended up taking over 200 pictures in about an hour of this fun event! Obviously I don't have room to post them all on this blog, but here are a few of my favorites from the day!
My nephew Landon hanging out with his new pal. :)

Time to let the balloons go!
There they go!
