Nancy & Chris maternity session: Central Arkansas

I love that my job means I am constantly meeting new people, especially when those people are as sweet as Chris and Nancy. One of the kindest people I've met, Nancy was perfectly okay with doing an outdoor shoot being 30 weeks pregnant in the middle of summer in Arkansas! I found us a (somewhat) cool spot in the shade at Wildwood Park in Little Rock. Surprisingly the heat wasn't too bad! 

Throughout the session, I could completely feel the love between this couple. They were giddy with excitement when I asked them about their little one on the way. Little Miles is expected to make his appearance on or near the last day in August. I'm thrilled to be shooting his newborn session as well.

Nancy and Chris, what a pleasure it was to work with you and I'm looking forward to photographing Miles in the next year to come!

Ethan & Charlie: Central Arkansas

I grew up with two brothers who are very close in age so these pictures bring a smile to my face. :) Looking at these two brothers I just know they will be close as they grow up. Ethan (5 years) and Charlie (1 year) were so much fun at our shoot. We met at Wildwood Park on one of the hottest days of the years so far but we still managed to have so much fun!  Ethan (the older brother) told me he was in charge of picking out the best photo spots for us and that he did. He led us around the park and showed us where the best spots would be to take pictures. How cute is that? I told him I needed to hire him as my assistant. :)

This was also Charlie's one year shoot so we made sure we got plenty of just little Charlie. He is such a happy little boy. Makes my job so easy. :)

Jack at 6 months: Central Arkansas

Jack is 6 months old! I loved shooting this cutie and I immediately fell in love with this little guy's gorgeous brown eyes. I love when clients come back to me so I can see how their family has grown. I first met Jack's mom when I second shot her wedding in 2010. And now Jack is 6 months old and what a handsome fella he is! Six months is a great time to document a baby age. Most babies are crawling and sitting up quite nicely at this point and Jack is no exception. We met at Wildwood Park in Little Rock and surprisingly it wasn't too terribly hot.  This is by far my favorite shot of the day. Oh, those big brown eyes just make me melt!

We switched chairs to this vintage red rocker. I managed to snap one quick one of him in it before he wobbled out it. :) It wasn't quite as roomy as my go to white wicker chair.

I captured a few of Jack and his momma. Even though she wasn't planning on being photographed, I know these will be so special to her.

Sometimes while editing, I like to play around with different actions. I love the contrast of his dark eyes in these black and white images. What do you think?
